Edit a Project query

In SCOUT, you have the flexibility to edit your project queries at any time. However, it’s important to note that once you edit and save a query, your current results will be replaced with the updated data. If you want to explore a similar query without altering your current one, you can either create a new project or add a new page to your existing project.

Steps to Edit Your Project Query

  1. Click Edit in the Search section. Open your project and locate the search section. Click the Edit button to modify your query.
  2. After making changes to your query, click Search. This will display the updated results in real time, but your query changes will not be saved yet.
  3. Once you’re satisfied with the updated results, click Save. This will replace your previous query with the new one and save the changes.
    Important
: You can only restore your previous query before saving. Once saved, the former query and results cannot be recovered.
Tips for managing queries

Duplicate or add pages
: If you want to test similar queries without overwriting your existing results, duplicate your project or add a new page to explore variations.
Preview before saving
: Use the live preview after clicking Search to ensure your changes meet your expectations before committing to them.
