Innovation creates value when ideas move from research to real products and services.

The MAPEGY Library structures this process into more than 20 stages that show how ideas become value. These stages are grouped into 6 main areas:  Inputs, Transformation, Output, Distribution, Customer Interaction, and Enablers.

These categories represent the standard model of value creation, applicable across all industries.

We review and update this dataset once per year, and in the future, new industry-specific layers will be added in shorter cycles.

This is our first release of the Value Chains framework. It’s a complex topic, and we’ve worked hard to create a consistent and comprehensive foundation. We built it using industry standards, expert interviews, and MAPEGY’s own methodology. We know that value chains are far more detailed in reality. That’s why we’re already developing additional, sector-specific value-chain perspectives. This standard model will remain stable, but new, more detailed versions will follow soon.
