Smart Search: Best practices
SCOUT’s Smart Search is designed to retrieve the most relevant documents based on the meaning of your query, not just keyword matches. To get the best results:
- Use clear and specific keywords or phrases
- Example: Instead of a broad term like "hydrogen," use "hydrogen in aviation" for more targeted results.
- Other good examples: "biodegradable materials in food packaging", "AI in supply chains."
- Let the system enhance your query
- SCOUT automatically expands your input and adds context.
- There’s no need to phrase your query like a full sentence—just use natural, well-formed keywords or short phrases.
- Expect results based on meaning, not exact words
- The system retrieves documents that are conceptually relevant, even if they don’t contain your exact wording.
By following these simple guidelines, you can quickly find the most relevant information using Smart Search.
