Access SCOUT Search
In SCOUT, search is a central feature that helps you explore innovation insights. You can access and interact with SCOUT Search from different entry points depending on your workflow. Below is an overview of where to find and how to use SCOUT Search:
Create a Project
When you click the + Project button on your Portfolio page, you are redirected to the Project Creation page. Here, you’ll find a search mask where you can define your initial query.
The search applied at this stage will automatically be saved to the newly created project.

Inside a SCOUT Project
Each SCOUT project page has its own dedicated search query. Note that every project page can have a unique search query. Meaning, one single project may contain different searches.
Below the project page title and description, you will see the applied search.

Central Search bar
Located in the SCOUT menu, the Central Search bar allows for flexible query building.

After clicking on the bar, you will have two options to proceed:
- Advanced Search. Click on Advanced (located on the right side of the screen). This redirects you to the Search Page, where you can build a detailed search from scratch.Ideal for exploratory searches before deciding to save results to a project.

- Quick search by typing. Start typing a search term directly into the search bar. A dropdown menu will appear offering:
- New search options. You can use your term to launch a new organization or smart search.
- Saved queries. If your search term matches content in any of your saved projects or Library projects, these will appear in the dropdown. You can choose to:
- Open the corresponding project or Library item directly, or
- Launch the saved query to the SCOUT Hub to explore broader results.

Launching a Project query to the SCOUT Hub
You can explore a saved query in the broader SCOUT Hub. Simply click on the saved search query from your Portfolio or Project page.
This launches the query to the SCOUT Hub, showing wider results.
Note: Any edits made in the SCOUT Hub after launching this way will not be saved to the original project.
